What to expect from Betsy's presentation:
Darn it, I have an idea for a drawing but my hand hurts when I draw! Does this sound familiar? Don't let the frustration of pain, injuries and aging hold you back from creating in the studio if there is a tool that can help you keep making art! This short talk will cover tools that can help with grip strength issues, carpal tunnel issues, and general hand/wrist issues that may bother you as an artist. This talk is from an achy artist recovering from a hand surgery and will be from a non-medical peer perspective.
Devices and gadgets will be at the ready for a hands-on session with simple art making materials where you can try out the lot of them to see if any can help you stay active in the studio longer. As a group, there will be an opportunity to share what has worked for you and a master list of resources will be compiled to be shared with all.
