We are pleased to offer two options for an inspiring workshop with Eileen Sorg at Black Barn Fine Art Studio in October. Many of our students have been wanting more time in the studio with Eileen and so added a third day as an addition on Monday October 13th. Eileen will continue working with students, assisting them in their finishing touches on their workshop projects, as well as hosting a wonderful lunch provided by Black Barn. For those of you who are registered for all 3 days, please write Derek at classes@blackbarnfineartstudio.com with any dietary restrictions once you receive your confirmation.

The optional third day of our October class will be a unique opportunity for new students to work on their class project a bit further with guidance from Eileen. Students who have taken Eileen’s colored pencil course previously can use this day to receive help with completing an existing piece or for starting a new independent project of their own using Eileen’s technique.

This extra time also lends itself for more question and answer periods and demonstrations in regards to broader art topics that may not be discussed in the traditional two day session.

Eileen's workshop will teach you how to use ink, watercolor and colored pencil together to create richly detailed pieces of art. Students will be guided through a group project step by step with Eileen demonstrating each stage and providing guidance along the way.

Her mixed media approach allows for a quick buildup of color and value while still leaving room for the beautiful detail and control of colored pencil.  Designed to help students at every skill level to master techniques, design and color, you will learn watercolor and colored pencil application tips and how to extract the best qualities of each medium in this fun and informative workshop.

Through step by step demonstrations, students will be guided through the process of transferring the line drawing onto the watercolor paper and then shown how to add the multiple layers of ink, watercolor, and colored pencil to achieve vibrantly rich results.

Each workshop will have a new and unique art design. Eileen's images used for promotion are examples of her professional work from the past. During the 2 day workshop, students will be beginning and studying Eileen's technique of Ink, Watercolor, & Colored Pencil on a smaller and simpler design to learn the technique. Students who opt to join us for all 3 days will have a delicious assortment of catered food and snacks on Monday by our very own Ariel Greye. Food items shown below are examples of what has been offered here in the past. Once we have everyone's dietary restrictions Ariel will craft a menu of inspiring bites. Students are encouraged to bring their own lunch on Saturday and Sunday. We will have some light snacks in the morning as well as plenty of coffee and tea available all three days.
