Crackle Paste, a painting ground manufactured by Golden, is often misunderstood and misused. There are specific ways to use it for best results, and Derek Gundy will demonstrate this in this evening workshop.

Each student will learn how to prep a board for the medium as well as painting. Crackle Paste can accept many painting mediums like acrylic, watercolor, and gouache. Please bring whatever materials you would like to paint with. Some M. Graham Acrylic Paints will be provided for those who would like to try those. An assortment of brushes will be available if you do not have your own.

Each students will receive:

  • One prepared 8x10 MDF board (with crackle) ready for painting during the workshop

  • One unprepared 8x10 MDF board

  • Crackle Paste to learn how to prepare your own painting surface

This is a very fun ground to work on. Please bring some appropriate ideas and references for painting during the workshop. Think about the proportions of 8x10 as well as what would be effective in conjunction with the effects of Crackle Paste.
