You’ve loved art for as long as you can remember. You’ve always admired the work of artists who seem to be able to create anything their hearts and imagination can dream up, all with an incredible degree of skill. You have always wanted to learn to make your own art at such a high level, but have never had the time or funds to devote to a “real” program. The ongoing instruction provided by The Andrews Atelier at Black Barn School of Art is the answer you’ve been searching for. You will learn the same techniques and skills which have produced great art for hundreds of years, and you’ll do it in the same kind of small group instruction that all of the great masters had the benefit of. The only differences will be that you won’t have to give your entire life over to daily instruction for three to five years, and you won’t have to take out loans to afford it.

Artist & Teacher James Andrews earned his MA in Atelier Studio Arts at the Florence Academy of Art in 2023, and has been teaching drawing, painting, & sculpture in Kitsap County for decades. Each week, James will have new challenging lessons & exercises to help artists continue to develop and grow, while also providing guidance for longer term projects for students who are ambitious. The open studio format of these classes allows for artists of all skill levels.
