Tell a story with your handmade assemblage ornaments
Get in the spirit of the season with assemblage artist Steve Parmelee by repurposing small vintage found objects into creative hanging holiday ornaments. Students will learn the methods of connecting a variety of materials, and how to incorporate decorative wire hooks & other clever ways to hang. Take home your mini assemblage art for timeless keepsakes... or as handmade gifts! Students are invited to bring their own objects to include, plus material will be also provided by the instructor - tins, cookie cutters, vintage string light bulbs, small toys, figurines, etc. No experience necessary.

Making Connections

What makes Steve Parmelee's work extraordinary is his ability to tell stories through his work. When you view his work, you realize it's saying something very special. Sometimes it can be open to interpretation, but the story is front and center. The power of the work is at the intersection of the stories of the individual objects, that when brought together, tell a whole new narrative.
