About Your Workshop

Returning students and artists who have taken a basic encaustic class prior are welcome to join me to deepen their understanding, refine their technique, and be inspired with new ideas for expanding their creative work. Let me share the newest and most exciting techniques I have gathered in my last year of classes, retreats, and personal studio practice.
If you love making connections and mixing media in your art practice, please join me for this fun workshop where we learn novel beeswax encaustic medium applications including:
Prepare found objects to become alternative canvases to accept encaustic wax.
Create encaustic paintings on flexible, foldable, stitch-able substrates to build three-dimensional raised structure in our pieces.
Carve using pottery tools to excavate layers and add texture to the surface of your encaustic pieces.

I'll literally bring a van load of art supplies, and we'll spend the day playing, experimenting, and learning together!
