What to expect from your paper cut workshop with Elizabeth

The paper cut art form has been around for centuries but most involve the use of small, sharp scissors. Elizabeth uses an x-acto knife instead, so you are cutting on a flat, self-healing mat.

After a short tutorial by Elizabeth, the process will start with transferring a design onto a piece of paper. Starting slowly with simple, provided designs, each student can move ahead at their own pace with
guidance from Elizabeth. Cut by cut you will create your own paper cut and hopefully leave ready to tackle more on your own with the materials you’ll take home. Scroll down to see an example of a trifold version.

The two design styles you can try are an 8”x10” paper cut and a 5”X7” trifold greeting card (envelope provided).

Materials fee will cover -
11”x14” self healing cutting mat
two styles of x-acto knives
fine tip glue bottle
paper for two 8”x10” paper cuts and two 5”x7” tri fold greeting cards

*Please note- Unfortunately this workshop is not appropriate for someone
with hand-eye coordination or hand mobility issues.

We'll keep it simple so you can accomplish a finished project during the workshop.
